On Tuesday, September 4, 2013 Ambassador Mitchell met with seven of the eight Burmese religious and community leaders who recently returned from a three-week U.S. Department of State-sponsored study tour of the United States on the theme of Tolerance and Diversity in a Multiethnic Society. The program took the participants to Washington, DC; Boston, Massachusetts; New Orleans, Lousiana; and Los Angeles, California to meet with U.S. religious leaders, policymakers, academics, and civil society groups.
