Embassy Prague Hosts Shabbat Dinner in Honor of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia

Prague, Czech Republic

On May 17th, Ambassador Norman Eisen hosted a traditional Shabbat dinner in honor of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO). The Ambassador and his family invited local LGBT leaders to join in a discussion with several leading American LGBT leaders. Czech Pride organizers and others discussed the state of rights for homosexuals in the Czech Republic. This event was a perfect opportunity to open the Ambassador’s home to a traditionally disenfranchised group. The intimate setting of the Ambassador’s weekly Shabbat only further created a safe atmosphere to discuss the sensitive issue of homophobia and discrimination.
