Reporting Requirements on Responsible Investment in Burma

The U.S. Government wants to take efforts to encourage responsible investment that compliments, not contradicts, reform in Burma. Part of the way we do this is to have U.S. companies serve as models for domestic and international companies in Burma. We want U.S. companies to report on their operations in the country, their partnerships, and how they take into consideration certain very important things, including labor rights, human rights, the environment, anti-corruption, and community consultation. These draft reporting requirements are available for public comment for 30 days and will become official upon OMB approval.
