Election Events: U.S. Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia

Croatian media have for days been widely and extensively reporting on the U.S. elections and the last days of the campaign. The Embassy-organized Election Night Gala, which took place at Hotel Sheraton in downtown Zagreb on November 6, attracted a large number of Croatian journalists in person, and resulted in many print stories and interviews on TV, radio, print media and on-line news portals. Most headlines focused on Ambassador Merten’s statement that regardless of the elections outcome, the Embassy does not expect changes to U.S. policy in Croatia. Croatian government officials attending the Election Night included Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic.
