In July 2012, Assistant Secretary Michael Posner wrote an editorial for Science Magazine on “The Media and Internet Freedom”.    In this editorial, he highlights the relationship between the internet and the science community, and emphasizes the important role internet freedom plays in the world today.   The exchange of information within the academic community depends on an Internet that is maintained as an open platform for the free exchange of  ideas.  At present, Internet freedom is threatened across the globe, and this should concern scientists and other academics as much as it does human rights activists.  For the complete article, please click here.
